Giving our puppies the very best start in life

Raising Puppies

Hi, I'm Emmy

I've been owned by a Miniature Pinschers for over 20 years, and raising puppies is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

Every litter is carefully planned and lovingly raised in our family home on the Kāpiti Coast. As a small breeder, I only raise a limited number of puppies, which allows me to spend the time getting to know each puppy as an individual and providing them with the best possible start in life.

My goal isn't simply to breed beautiful dogs. It's to raise confident, resilient, well-socialised companions and carefully match them with families who will love them for a lifetime.

More Than Just Growing Up

Raising a litter of puppies is about so much more than simply feeding puppies until they are old enough to go home.

The first few weeks of a puppy's life are incredibly important. During this time, they are learning about the world, building confidence, developing social skills, and discovering that new experiences can be exciting rather than scary.

Every puppy is raised right in the heart of our family home, surrounded by everyday life, plenty of love, and all the little adventures that come with growing up.

To help give them the very best start, we incorporate the Puppy Culture programme, along with age-appropriate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), sound exposure, gentle handling, socialisation, enrichment, and confidence-building experiences.

As they grow, puppies are introduced to new sights, sounds, surfaces, toys, people, and environments, always at a pace that is appropriate for their age and development. They learn valuable lessons from their mother and other trusted adult dogs, while also beginning to develop independence and resilience.

While no breeder can guarantee a puppy will never get a fright or face challenges later in life, my goal is to give every puppy the best possible foundation, so they are well equipped to cope with whatever life throws their way.

Our goal isn't to raise perfect puppies. It's to raise confident, curious, well-loved little dogs who are ready to embrace life's adventures with their future families.

Sharing the Journey

One of my favorite parts of breeding is sharing the puppies' journey.

Through my Facebook page, families can come along for the adventure as the puppies grow, learn, explore, and develop their own unique personalities. From first adventures and confidence-building experiences to cozy naps, puppy antics, and important milestones, I love giving people a glimpse into our life with puppies.

For many future owners, sharing in a litter's journey is not only a wonderful way to watch puppies grow, but also an opportunity to get a feel for me, my dogs, and the way I raise my puppies.

After all, raising a litter is a special journey, and I love inviting others to share in it.

A Lifetime of Support

One thing I promise every puppy owner is that you're never on your own.

Whether it's your first day home, your first training class, or years down the track, I'm always just a message away. I love watching my puppies grow up and genuinely enjoy staying in touch with their families.

When a Tauriel puppy leaves for their new home, they may no longer live with me, but they'll always be part of the Tauriel family.
